We proudly celebrated another successful year at our May 7, 2022 Awards Ceremony.  Since it was started by local volunteers in 1989, Taconic Hills Dollars for Scholars, has awarded $2,048,250 to 1345 Taconic Hills Graduates! Our Chapter is run solely by community volunteers who strongly believe in the value of higher education for each student who desires to pursue it in trade schools, 2 year or 4 year Colleges. We are not affiliated with Taconic Hills CSD. We are a local chapter of Scholarship America and as a Dollars for Scholars chapter we are a 501(c) 3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.  Additionally there are nearly 40 named Scholarships given annually that have been provided by various interested Community Members through endowments, gifts or local fundraisers such as Alumni Basketball and Soccer Games as well as the "Remember the Titans" 5K.

2023 Jr. Art Scholarship Recipients

This is funded through an anonymous donor and awarded by Taconic Hills Dollars for Scholars. It is awarded to two Juniors in June, now Seniors, attending Taconic Hills for up to $250 each to develop their art portfolio with the intention of using it to apply to an Art School/Major in an Artistic area in College.  It may be used for, but is not limited to: purchasing art materials, art books, a life drawing class, and any other materials to assist the student in developing an Art Portfolio. This could also include application fees to such a college and travel expenses. Grade point average in Art/Design and related classes, artistic ability and a desire to pursue an Artistic Career are the primary considerations.
This year's recipients were Madeline Delaney and Alexandria Conway.

The 2023 Founders' Scholarships Recipients

The purpose is to provide further support in the pursuit of a degree or certification to a currently enrolled student, who is a prior THDFS Scholarship Recipient, who will reach Junior Class status or above as of the Fall Session. (Includes Masters and Doctoral Studies or other specialized certifications necessary for the field of study.)
This Scholarship is in honor of the people who were our "Founders". They put in many hours to organize, raise funds and to select the first recipients in June 1990. Since that time many people have donated their time and resources to support students. These Scholarships are given to honor their legacy.
This year's recipients of $1,500 Scholarships were Brooke (McComb) Taylor, Mykaela Fuller, Erin Hallenbeck, and Krystle Maab.

What Scholarships Mean to Our Students

"I cannot express my gratitude for everything you have done for us as students. All the hard work and dedication really helps us follow our dreams. As students I don't think we will ever forget how much we have benefited from everything you do. I cannot wait to further my studies! I couldn't do it without the support of Dollars for Scholars."

"Thank you for your generous award towards my college education. I am very thankful that you have these scholarships from the community. This will help me achieve my goal of having a career where I can help others. I am honored to receive this scholarship from the donor's family."

"I would like to sincerely thank you for your generous donation. As a college student, every assistance feels like a relief from the heavy tuition bill, but more than that, with scholarships like this I find more passion in learning as I look to uphold the reputations of all who have believed in me.  I couldn't be more excited to start my studies.  It's with your donations this dream has come true and I am forever thankful."

"I would like to thank the donor for their generous scholarship. This will benefit me greatly and I am deeply moved by their benevolence. Becoming a Park Ranger is a dream come true for me and this scholarship is a major stepping stone in that goal. I will be able to work outside and protect nature which I will thrive doing. Thank you so much for everything you have done for me."

"Thank you for the generous scholarship and for helping me further my education after high school. I really appreciate your generosity.  In the fall I will attend college majoring in political science as well as preparing for law school in the future. I am excited to start this new path in my life. Thank you for your time and efforts in organizing these scholarships. They are really appreciated."
